Easily Create Picture Slideshows and Set as Wallpapers

Gnome Slideshow Background XML creator lets you create an xml file from pictures in a folder that create links to all your pictures. Just add the xml file to background tab in appearance window and you are done.

The application is .jar file so you will need Java or OpenJDK installed.

Instructions:
  1. Right click the file, go to properties and set it as executable in permissions tab.
  2. Right click and select open with Java or OpenJDK.
  3. Click on browse to set your folder and select create XML.
  4. Go to System>Preferences>Appearance and to the background tab.
  5. Click Add and select 'all files' in the bottom right corner.
  6. Select the xml file you created.
Now about the animation and timing. Looking at the xml file it seems that the background will change at midnight with an animation of 5 seconds.  But I am not sure as I don't know much about xml files. But if you want to change the values, you can edit the duration in xml file.

Edit: The developer have now included the options to set timing and duration in GUI itself. So no need to edit xml.
