Kubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat Beta Released

Kubuntu have reached beta in the Maverick Meerkat 10.10 series. The new version brings lots of new features:

  • One combined image for both desktop and netbook version
  • New default browser Rekonq with Webkit as backend
  • Global menu by default for netbook version
  • Pulse Audio enabled by default
  • Bluedevil as the default bluetooth manager
  • New improved KPackageKit
  • New interface to the ubiquity installer

Kubuntu Lucid users can Upgrade by opening the Run Command dialog by pressing Alt+F2 and running the following command:

kdesudo "do-release-upgrade -m desktop -f kde -d"
