First Stable Version of LibreOffice Released


The first stable version of LibreOffice has been released by The Document Foundation and is now available for download. 

LibreOffice brings many new features and improvements that include:
  • The ability to import and work with SVG files
  • A more-helpful Navigator Tool for Writer
  • A new easier-to-use print interface
  • Improved slide layout handling in Impress, etc.

LibreOffice can be installed from a PPA available for Ubuntu users. Instructions for installing from PPA can be found here (final packages yet to be uploaded)
