UGet Download Manager 1.8.0 Released (Latest Stable Version)

The latest version for Uget download manager has been released that brings many new features and fixes. Uget is probably the best download manager available for Ubuntu which can accelerate downloads by using multi threading, schedule downloads and has easy to use native GTK interface.

New features in this release
  • Support for Torrent and Metalink file (with aria2 plug-in)
  • Support for application indicator
  • It can do speed limit control per download
  • It can sort downloads by column in “All” category
  • Added scheduler
  • Added new plug-in that support aria2 version >= 1.10 (used for multi threaded downloads)
  • Added new timestamp columns – “Added On” and “Completed On”
  • Added configure option “–with-gtk3″ to enable GTK+3 support
To install Uget and add the PPA, run the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:plushuang-tw/uget-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install uget

You can integrate Uget with Firefox using Flashgot extension. Uget can also be integrated into chrome/chromium (Read our simple tutorial from here)
