[Preview] Unity Dash Extension for Gnome Shell

Zac Barton is working on an extension that will implement Unity Dash menu with some modifications in Gnome Shell.

Check out some preview screenshots:

Current Features
  • Allows you to see recent apps, docs and downloads - like unity
  • See applications in their categories - filtering made easy
  • Search for apps, docs etc - like unity
  • Blurs background - like unity
  • Matches background color - like unity
Upcoming Features
  • Disable blur
  • Disable tint or select your own color
  • Disable any section (recent or search etc)
  • Force x columns and y rows (don't guess for me)
  • Use gnome or zeitgeist for searching (currently uses zeitgeist)
This extension is currently in development and final version will be made available here. What do you think about it? Such an extension will be useful to you?
