10 Million Ubuntu Units Shipped Last Year Worldwide

Chris Kenyon, VP of sales and Business Development, Canonical has announced some interesting figures on first day of Ubuntu Developer Summit (UDS-Q).
  • Ubuntu shipped on 7.5 billion dollars worth of hardware last year
  • About 8 to 10 Million Ubuntu units were sold last year
  • Canonical is targeting to ship about 18 Million Ubuntu units this year, which will be 5% of total computers shipped world wide
  • Last year Mark Shuttleworth said that Ubuntu will have about 200 million users worldwide by 2015
These numbers do tell about Ubuntu growth in last few years but it still has a long road to cover. What do you say, will Ubuntu get 200 million users by 2015?
