Miro is a music/video player and downloader that lets you subscribe to podcasts, search for media on the Internet, buy music and apps from stores, sync with devices including Android phones, convert media to other formats, download torrents, and more. 

Miro is completely free, open source and one stop application for all your media management needs, podcasts etc.

Miro 5.0 was released recently with many new features and fixes.

  • Miro needs a "currently playing" shortcut
  • Device enhancements meta ticket
  • Don't convert videos when they don't need to be converted to work on the device

To install Miro 5.0 in Ubuntu 12.04 and 11.10, run the commands below:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pcf/miro-releases
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install miro
