Couple of days back we wrote about new Linux games on Kickstarter.
Well there are more Linux games looking for crowd funding and if the trend goes on like this, we will get lots and lots of new Linux games by the end of 2013.
Lets look at couple of more such projects.
Haunts: The Manse Macabre
Haunts: The Manse Macabre is a turn-based horror game that allows you to play either side of the haunting - the dangerous denizens or the intrepid intruders.
It can be played versus another player or versus the AI, online or all alone. A lengthy single-player campaign tells the house’s horrifying history and unlocks new denizens and intruders to use in the game. Scores of maps combined with variable goals, customizable rosters, and a variety of opponents offer endlessly unique and re-playable games.
You can ensure Haunts for just $5 on Kickstarter (Windows, Mac, Linux). Expected date of release is October 2012. Also, once the game is released, source code (written in Go language) as well as art assets will be open sourced.
Legends of Eisenwald
Legends of Eisenwald is an original mix of RPG and strategy, with tactical turn based battles and a simple economic model. Rich possibilities of gameplay mechanics allow a player to feel being a hero of different stories ranging from treasure hunt to fighting for the throne. You can follow your game path as a Knight, Mystic or a Baroness and in each case gameplay and story will be partially different.
LoE will be released on Windows, Mac and Linux. If they reach a funding target of $100k (currently at $45k with 10 days left), the game will be released on October 2012 on all three platforms. If not, then Windows version will be released first and Mac and Linux builds will arrive 3-4 months later.
Yes, both Linux and MacOS we will do regardless of the funds raised, the only difference would be release dates. And we do hope to release our game on the three platforms at the same time.
A DRM free copy of LoE can be grabbed for $15 on Kickstarter.
