'Nekro' 3D Action Game for Linux Reaches Kickstarter Goal

Nekro is an overhead, randomly generated action game about summoning evil forces of darkness to do your bidding.

The game is inspired by Myth: The Fallen Lords and Dungeon Keeper. You are the bad guy, a powerful necromancer able to create unthinkable horrors out of the twisted lifeless corpses of your enemy. Blood is your fuel, razing towns and slaughtering anything that opposes you is your creed. Even though you are evil, the humans of the land are corrupted, and will stop at nothing to wipe you out.

Nekro is on Kickstarter and has reached its target of $100k. The game will be available for Windows, Mac and Linux (DRM Free).

There are couple of things I like about this project. First, Linux support was promised from the beginning and no conditions like 'If we reach a particular target, Linux support will be added.'

Secondly, the developers have posted some bits of actual gameplay.

The game is looking quite promising specially with features like randomly generated worlds and crafting system meaning high replayability.

63 hours are still left, a DRM free copy can be grabbed for $15 from Kickstarter. Expected date of release is June 2013.
