'Beneath a Steel Sky' Sequel is Coming to Linux

Revolution Software is making a sequel of their popular science fiction adventure game 'Beneath a Steel Sky'.

The game was released in 1994 for DOS and Amiga and it was open sourced in 2003. Since then it has been ported to many platforms using ScummVM. The game is available in repositories of many Linux distributions.

Revolution Software recently finished Kickstarter funding campaign for Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse Adventure game. They promised to make a sequel of 'Beneath a Steel Sky' if $1 million funding stretch goal is reached. However, they ended up raising about $770k.

The good news is, now they will make 'Beneath a Steel Sky 2' even when they have fallen short of $1 million stretch goal. The game will be fully supported on Linux and Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse Adventure is already coming to Linux.

So, Revolution Software is gearing up to bring sequels of two popular adventure games to Linux. Development of the 'Beneath a Steel Sky 2' will begin after the release of Broken Sword (April 2013).
