Indicator-Docker Makes It Easy to Control Containers

Indicator-Docker is a simple yet usable Docker application indicator for Ubuntu.

It displays a live list of available containers (both running and stopped). The list is updated automatically thanks to Docker daemon event subscription. It also displays a desktop notification whenever a container is started or stopped (not necessarily via the indicator).

Ubuntu 16.10 users can download it by running following commands:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:yktooo/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indicator-docker
sudo apt-get install python-docker python3-docker
Unfortunately, indicator-docker is not available for Ubuntu 16.04/17.04. The deb package from the PPA is also not working on 16.04/17.04 and it is crashing constantly.
