Paid Apps Gone Free - PAGF (Beta)

Upgrade All Apps to GNOME 3.24 in Ubuntu GNOME 17.04

Ubuntu 17.04 has been released and many of you may want to try out Ubuntu GNOME flavor as starting with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, GNOME desktop will be default UI instead of Unity.

However, some GNOME packages in 17.04 have been held back to older GNOME versions like 3.20 and 3.22. These apps include Nautilus, Gnome-Terminal, Evolution, Software etc.

If you absolutely want latest GNOME apps, then run the commands below to upgrade all apps to GNOME 3.24.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3-staging
sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade
Please note that packages from these PPAs may not be officially supported, so use them at your own risk.
