Unity 5.2 has just landed in Precise bringing in lots of changes. This will be be third time we will be writing about these changes but lets do a recap anyway.

Unity Home Lens has received a major change in Precise. All the shortcuts with big icons have been dropped and home lens now shows info about recently used apps, files and downloads.
LightDM Unity Greeter can now read user desktop backgrounds in Precise. The effect was demoed last cycle in a mockup and since then many users have requested this feature.
Ubuntu 12.04 is receiving lots of new features making it more customizable and user friendly. The performance has also received tremendous boost and everything is really fast and more snappier.
All applications installed via Ubuntu Software Center in Precise are being added to the Unity launcher as a new option 'New Applications in Launcher' is now turned on by default.
Canonical design team has revealed some more plans for the upcoming LTS release in a series of blog posts. Along with multi-monitor setup improvements, new changes have been proposed for system and sound settings.
During UDS there was a discussion to drop non-PAE kernel in 12.04 LTS as Linux kernel with PAE support can already take care of 32bit systems with 4GB RAM or more.
Ubuntu 12.04 Alpha 1 has been released. There are not many visible changes in this release. However, lots of packages have been updated to their latest versions.
Daily build iso images are now available for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 'Precise Pangolin'. Not many changes have landed yet in 12.04 but those who want to test new stuff can give these builds a try.
In opening keynote address of Ubutnu Developer Summit (UDS), Mark Shuttleworth said that lots of efforts will be put this cycle to make Ubuntu more power users friendly. Emphasis will be on improving multi-tasking, multi-monitor support and other features for power users.
