The Power of the Docks : AWN, Docky and Cairo Give Your Desktop A Dash of Unity

Danial Huxter from DeviantART has given his desktop an interesting new look which he calls Dunity. In his original concept he used Docky and GNOME stack to give his desktop look of Unity, the new interface in upcoming Ubuntu 11.04.

Now, in his new version - Dunity Three, he has made use of all the three docks Docky, AWN, Cairo and Compiz. In his own words:

"An improvement on my last version of Dunity. Using Avant Window Navigator, I have seamlessly added an Expo launcher to Docky. Also, the Ubuntu icon links to a widget layer that has several useful apps, including Cairo Dock at the top to launch applications. Orta is used as the theme, and the Faenza icons as the icon theme obviously."

In this video he explains how he did this. The text is rather too small to read. I would suggest you to download it and watch full screen. Just right click and click on 'save video as'. If you can't see the video, click here.
