Try 'Unity of Command' Linux Demo

Unity of Command is an innovative and refreshing operational-level wargame that covers the entire 1942/43 Stalingrad Campaign on the Eastern Front.

Playable from both the Axis and Soviet perspective, it strives to recreate the strategy, the forces involved and the general tension of that crucial period in World War II.

Unity of Command: Stalingrad Campaign is one of the 27 games that are currently available on Steam Linux limited beta. The game has got a pretty good meta-score of 84. Check out a gameplay video:

If you want to have a look at the game, there is a playable Linux demo available. The demo includes the tutorial, one introductory and one complete single player scenario.

I have tested the game on Ubuntu 12.10 and it works out of the box. No issues, crashes or lag and everything feels butter smooth. The game uses many cross platform tools/libraries like Pygame and SDL.

To launch the game, go to bin folder and run uoc executable. More instructions can be found in readme file inside game folder.
