New Faience Gnome Shell and GTK Themes Released


Faience theme pack has received a new update that introduces a new Faience-Ocre theme for Gnome-Shell and Faience-Claire GTK2, GTK3 and metacity themes (compatible with Unity).

Faience theme pack has been created by Matthieu James who is also the designer of Faenza and Faience icon packs.

Other changes in this release:
  • Fixed the background color of Nautilus canvas items when the right-click menu is displayed
  • Added animations to buttons
  • Improved the overall look of Gnome Documents
  • Removed the stripes on progressbars
  • New design for modal dialogs and GDM
  • Updated assets to match better the GTK3 widgets
  • Removed the 1-pixel border along the vertical scrollbars for maximized windows
  • Minor updates to Faience icons
To install these themes and icon sets in Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10, run the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tiheum/equinox
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install faience-theme faience-icon-theme faenza-icon-theme
