Interested Ubuntu users can always try daily builds to test a new Ubuntu snapshot. There are a number of reasons to remove Alpha milestones:
- Targeting bugs is easy if there are monthly milestones.
- Many products on Launchpad have their own milestones.
- People keep using the Alpha images long after they lose value.
Ubuntu flavors may still follow a Alpha release model. Full session notes can be found here. Also check out Launchpad blueprint and Ubuntu 13.04 release schedule.
