Mark Shuttleworth recently hinted about a pure GNOME desktop in 18.04 LTS.
However, if you like Unity and would like to stick to it in future, there is some good news.
In a google plus post, Mark mentioned that Unity 7 packages will be available in 18.04 LTS.

Unity7 packages will continue to be carried in the archive, I know there are quite a few people who care enough about it to keep it up to date. I expect it will be in universe for 18.04 LTS.More here.
